Minnie Barbee Bost

Obituary: Minnie Barbee Bost, age 91 of Irmo SC, formerly of Kannapolis died Thursday, March 8, 2012 after a period of declining health. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 11 at Carolina Memorial Park, with Rev. Ken Reed officiating. Visitation will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home on Saturday, March 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Minnie was born July 4, 1920 in Stanly Co., a daughter of the late Martin B. and Omi Harward Barbee. She graduated from Ridgecrest High School in Stanly Co. and then moved to Kannapolis in 1939. Minnie worked as a pillow case hemmer for Cannon Mills Plt. #1 in the Sheet Dept. for 39 years, retiring 1983. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in China Grove and the Kannapolis Chapter of the Eastern Star #349. In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Bernard Bost in 2002 and her 6 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
