Mary Rose Plyler McCants, 79, passed away June 1, 2026.

Born July 3, 1946, in Lancaster County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Hugh C. Plyler and Dera Hammond Plyler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul Plyler and Lynn Plyler, and her daughter-in-law Laura LaneMcCants.

A graduate of Heath Springs High School in Heath Springs, SC, Mary Rose retired from the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services in 2013. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church for 20+ years. Mary Rose, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loved her family, unconditionally: Daughters—Alicia, Shawn, Heather and Laura; Grandchildren—Amanda & Anthony, Sherry & Dylan, Bethany & Peter, Nicole & Duane, Jonathan, Alex and Zoe; Great-grandchildren—Ayla Rose, Colton, Eli, Monty and Ivy. Last, but not least, she was Elvis’ number one fan! LOL

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
