Mary Elizabeth Ivey, 73, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born March 24, 1952, to the late Grover and Effie Lambert Bare in Ashe County, NC.
Mary worked as a spinner at Cannon Mills. She enjoyed cooking and coloring. Mary loved going to church and singing gospel. She had a strong faith in your Lord and Savior. Mary had two children that she loved deeply. She was not only a grandmother, but she was also their keystone in the family. She took care of them as her own. She was proud to have taught them the value of love and kindness; from washing their faces to cooking, cleaning and showing what unconditional love was so they can pass that on to others.
Mary Was a loving and a amazing woman, daughter and mother and grandmother. Anyone that ever met her fell in love with her. She will be missed but will live forever in each and every one of our hearts.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Kenny Ray Bunton Jr.; her daughter, Mary Ann Griffin; her fiancé, William Pressley Jr.; her grandchildren, Lilly Griffin, Kayla McChesney, Laynie Bunton and Maxxamillian Boyd; her great grandchildren, Liam Hayes, Kyleigh Beaver and Elizabeth Beaver; her brother, Tony Bare; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Effie; her brother, Terry Bare and her sister, Cathy Snipes.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 3:00 PM at West Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Hazel Rollins officiating.
