Mary J. Faulkenbury Baker, 75, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in Charlotte, NC on March 14, 1950, to the Late Andrew Delee Faulkenbury and Cleatus Othea Brown Faulkenbury. The family moved to Illinois where she spent her early school years. They moved back to North Carolina where she graduated from AL Brown High School in Kannapolis. She worked at Cannon Mills and went to the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. It took her 10 years to graduate Maga Cum Laude. She also completed a 2-year program to become a paralegal. She worked at the Mecklenburg County Court system as a court coordinator. She enjoyed shopping, especially for shoes, puzzles, and crocheting. The beach was a wonderful way for her to relax and enjoy the sound of the ocean.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, her grandchildren Stephen Avery Poston and Elizabeth Michelle Poston.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Michael Baker, her son Phillip Poston and wife Gina, her stepson Joshua Baker, stepdaughter Lindsey Baker, her brothers, Terry Faulkenbury and wife Phyllis, Jerry Faulkenbury and wife Karen, and Michael Faulkenbury and Nancy, and 8 grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Thursday, June 12th at 1pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home followed by the Graveside Service at Carolina Memorial Park.
