Martha Ann Deaton Hensley, 79, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026. Born on September 29, 1946, in Cabarrus County, she was the cherished daughter of the late William Paul Deaton and Mary Edna Herbert Deaton.
Martha pursued her education at A.L. Brown High School and dedicated much of her life to her role as a preacher’s wife. Her deep faith and love for the Lord shone brightly through her devotion to the church. She found joy in playing the piano and organ, and her voice uplifted many during worship.
Above all, Martha was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Arnold Hensley, and her brother, Glenn Aaron Deaton.
Her memory lives on through her children, Barry Lackey, Tanya Mansfield, Darla Michaw (Jeff), and David Hensley (Roxanna). She is also lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle, Courtney, Noah, Austin, Skylar, Gunnar, and Pierce, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Leila, Nasser, Joseph, Yara, Chase, and Beckham, with another soon to join the family. She is also survived by her siblings, Lester Deaton (Sarah), Janice Honeycutt (Ed), Kathy Tucker (Charles), and Melissa Honeycutt.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at 11:00 AM followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, with her grandson Noah Michaw officiating. Following the service, Martha will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex at 1:30 PM.
