Martha Lou Adams Erwin, 91, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Martha was born on January 12, 1935 in Cabarrus County. She was the cherished only child of the late Dock Adams and Bea Palmer Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Ingram and James Ingram; and her grandson, Michael Williams.
Martha’s faith was the cornerstone of her life; she read the Bible cover to cover many times. She was a devoted Christian and a devoted wife to her best friend and the love of her life, Bill. Their bond was a beautiful example of enduring love.
Martha found joy in caring for her family and sharing her many talents. She loved to sew and crochet, often making clothes for her children and lovingly crafting special blankets for every new baby in her circle. Martha had a gift for making people feel treasured, she never met a stranger, and her warm smile and sense of humor stayed with you. She loved her flowers, her animals, her nativity collections, and her time in the kitchen, especially making her specialty, chicken and dumplings.
Martha also had a special eye for finding four-leaf clovers and shark teeth. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 74 years, Bill Erwin; children, Mike Erwin (Anita), Sharon Seaford (Bill), Lorie Stancil (Jeff); grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper (Josh), Scott McGuire (Jennifer), Angela Lambert (Chris), Emily Howard (Mark), Adam Seaford (Elizabeth), Sara Seaford, Jessica Stancil, and Darren Stancil; great-grandchildren, Justin, Julie, Madison, Makenzie, Grayson, Easton, Hunter, Cameron, Gavin, Rylan, Kason, and Katie; and special friend, Shirley Haney.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Shadybrook Baptist Church in Kannapolis. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 3:00pm with Rev. Charlie Littlejohn officiating.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Shadybrook Baptist Church Food Pantry- 1009 Oakwood Ave, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
