Martha Wyatt Clayton, born on January 4, 1949, in Wilkes County, entered eternal rest on July 26, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House, departing this life with a joyous spirit, “went to heaven a shouting love for the Father and the Son.”

Martha dedicated 18 years to her career at Cannon Mills Company, where she excelled in the Data Entry and Retirement Departments. Following her tenure at Cannon Mills, she continued her professional journey as a Financial Specialist and Senior Claim Representative at Allstate for 13 years. Her commitment to excellence in her work was commendable and left a lasting impact on her colleagues.

A devoted member of Midway United Methodist Church, Martha contributed to her community by serving in several capacities, demonstrating unwavering faith and support for her church family. She was also a member of the Ophelia Clayton Circle and actively participated in the Royal Oaks Optimist Club, embodying the values of service and fellowship.

Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth A. Clayton, and her parents, Donald Wyatt Sr. and Grace Bowlin Wyatt. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Linda Sue Wyatt, Patricia Ann Wyatt Milstead, and Mary Frances Wyatt Ward.

Martha is survived by her loving daughter, Angela Clayton Shuntich, and Eric Twitty. Her legacy continues through her step-son, Randall (BeLinda) Clayton, and her cherished grandchildren: Tyler Shuntich, Bryan Shuntich, Amy (JK) Frick, and Ryan (Taylor) Hatley. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Bailey, Gavon, Ganon Frick, Mayson, and Ayden Hatley. Martha’s life is further celebrated by her brothers, John Wyatt (Barbara), Donald Wyatt Jr., and Tommy Wyatt; her sisters, Sandra (Darrell) Little and Carolyn Crowell; and a host of nieces and nephews who fondly remember her kindness and nurturing spirit.

Martha Wyatt Clayton’s legacy of love, service, and dedication to her family and community will be cherished by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her remarkable life.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM, July 30, 2025 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. William Van Wieren III & Rev. Craig Allen, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Midway UMC, 108 Bethpage Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
