Marilyn R. Nicolay

Marilyn R. Nicolay, 90, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at her home.

Marilyn was born July 28, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Olaf and Agnes Norman.

She was also pre-deceased in death by her husband of 50 years, John “Jack”. Her sisters Pat, Christine, Margie and brother Evan.

Survivors include her four children; April Nicolay-Bliss, Carol Nicolay, James Nicolay, Michael (Traci) Nicolay, six grandchildren; Casey (Dan), Ryan, Shea, Jane (Gabe), Catherine, and Mabelle; and 3 great grandchildren Paisley, Lucas and Aubrey; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marilyn led a full life. In her early years she was an avid tennis player and loved to play mahjong. Her favorite hobbies included ushering at a local theatre, watching old movies, gardening, and collecting dolls among other collectibles.

She especially loved decorating for the holidays. Christmas being one of her favorites hanging Christmas wreaths and bows. She was a master at gift wrapping.

Marilyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to your local Meals on Wheels or favorite charity in her honor.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future. Interment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury to be with her beloved Jack.
