Marcia “Annice” O'Daniel

Marcia “Annice” O’Daniel, 73, of Concord, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Annice was born on July 31, 1951 in Cabarrus County. She was the cherished daughter of the late Sandy O’Daniel and Margaret Moon O’Daniel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Teressa Moon; and her grandparents, James and Odell Moon.

Annice attended Winecoff Elementary School, later graduating from Northwest Cabarrus High class of 1969. She attended UNC Charlotte and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in creative arts. Annice was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at UNC Charlotte 1971-1973.

Her career of 40 years began at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte as a director of personnel, where she then continued her career working at Presbyterian Sleep Medicine until her retirement.

Her passion for music began at an early age where she sang and played piano for almost 60 years at Centerview Baptist Church in Kannapolis. She was also pianist and vocalist for the Christian gospel group “The New Souls” for 18 years.

Annice struggled for several years with health issues. Through it all she stayed faithful to the Lord in every part of her life. She would share testimonies in churches abroad. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Byron O’Daniel (Judy); niece, Kara Long (Ricky); great-niece Bailey Long; great nephew, Graham Long; and Don Starnes, a lifelong friend.

A celebration of life will be held at Centerview Baptist Church on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm- 2:00pm at the church. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00pm with Rev. Willie Rash officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
