Lynn A. Cauble

Sarah Lynn Austin Cauble, 66, of Kannapolis, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at her home. She was born November 20, 1959, to the late James Vance Austin and Sarah Harriett Short Austin in Mecklenburg County, NC.

Lynn married the love of her life, John D. Cauble Jr. on January 26, 1980, at Shadybrook Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC.

Lynn worked for UNCC as Librarian for many years. Lynn enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking and planting flowers. She even loved riding her backhoe in her yard to help her plant those flowers. Lynn loved spending time with her nieces, nephews and the grandkids. Lynn enjoyed traveling to the mountains to go camping and hiking. Lynn and Johnny were members of Shadybrook Baptist, she cherished her time reading the Bible and spending time in her War (Prayer) Room.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 46 years, Johnny Cauble Jr.; her siblings, James (Beth) Austin, Dale (Susie) Austin, Sue (Ken) Denbow and Michelle (Rob) Smith; her stepson, John (Chua) Cauble; her step grandson, Jonathon Cauble; her step granddaughter, Nicole Cauble; her mother-in-law, Betty F. Cauble Earnhardt; her step father-in-law, Larry Earnhardt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lori Bowker.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Shadybrook Baptist Church, 1009 Oakwood Ave, Kannapolis, NC 28081. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dale Austin officiating.
