Lois Rebecca Horne Boone, 84, of Landis, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at her home.

Lois was born December 21, 1941, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Atlas Paul Horne and the late Ruby Geneva Curlee Horne.

She was also preceded in death by husband, James Larry Boone; daughter, Tammy Hayes; siblings, Atlas Horne, Wilson Horne, Joe Horne, Albert Horne, Nelson Horne, and Marie Horne and sisters-in-law, Debbie Morris and Belinda Logan.

Survivors include her children, Harold Morris of Kannapolis, NC, Bobby Morris, Vickie Cook of Monroe, NC, and Teresa (Gene) Calloway of Salisbury, NC; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mom was a wonderful mom; we definitely couldn’t ask for a better person to raise us and give us all the know-how of becoming the people we are today. Knowing that she was a fantastic cook - cooking things like chicken & dumplings, cakes, cobblers, and pies - she always made sure we ate & were taken care of. She loved the Lord & talked to us about God and how wonderful he was; that he is always there for us no matter what we needed. Just ask and if he sees it in his heart we shall receive. She was a lady that taught all her kids right from wrong. She let us know if we did wrong and how we could make things right. Something to remember; always treat someone with respect. Always be considerate of the elderly and definitely treat them with the utmost respect. Love your neighbor and help someone if you can, give food to someone that may be hungry, or something to drink should they be thirsty, help someone pay a bill, or give them a ride should they need it. Just open your heart - Someone may need it. In the End the Lord may return your greatness 10-fold. Even still always be grateful what the Lord has provided.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park Pavilion, located down the road across from Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, with the graveside service beginning at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Chuck Overcash officiating.
