Obituary: Lloyd Alexander Miller, Jr., age 75, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Carolinas ContinueCARE Hospital, Charlotte, NC after complications from surgery but had been in declining health for many years prior. He was born August 20, 1941 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Lloyd A. Miller, Sr. and Ethel Louise Brannon Miller. Lloyd was a resident of Concord, NC until moving to be close to his family living in Mooresville, NC in 2013. Lloyd was employed as a computer service engineer with ASEA Brown Boveri, Columbus, Ohio for over thirty years until his retirement. He was an active member of Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord, NC where he had served in the choir and had been a deacon. Lloyd also had a love for aviation having been in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968 and later earned his pilot's license. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2016 at Parkwood Baptist Church, Concord, NC officiated by Revs. Michael Waters and Darrell Coble. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC with military rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Dianne Thomas Miller; his daughter, Pam Sadoff & husband, John William Sadoff, Jr. of Mooresville, NC; two grandchildren, John W. Sadoff, III and Alexandra Louise Sadoff; and one brother, Michael B. Miller of Milton, FL. Memorials may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive NW, Concord, NC 28027.
