Linda Esther Kidd, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Linda was born on December 17, 1947, in Cabarrus County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Marcus Kidd and Katherine Carter.

Lind was a woman of strong belief. She loved going to church and found comfort in her faith. Linda was a hard worker and proudly spent 18 years at Belk in the fragrance department, where her warm smile and happy spirit touched both coworkers and customers.

Linda loved the beach, where she found peace and happiness. She enjoyed listening to beach music, her favorite being The Beach Boys. Linda was also a devoted football fan. Among her favorite teams were Clemson, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Carolina Panthers.

Family was her greatest blessing. Linda put her loved ones first in all things — offering support and unconditional love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Shawn Isom and Shannon Isom (Claudia); and brother, Jimmy Kidd (Diane); Linda was also blessed with many loving extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00pm. Inurnment will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
