Linda "Gayle" Stegall (Fesperman), of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Atrium Health Hospice House after several months of declining health. The family will be receiving guest at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Tuesday, August 19th from 3 - 4pm with a service in the chapel at 4:00pm.
Gayle was born on February 13, 1945 at Rowan Hospital in Salisbury NC and grew up in the Rockwell area where she and her family attended Organ Lutheran Church. Gayle graduated from South Rowan High School class of 1961. She was very proud of the fact that she was never absent her entire time from 1st grade until graduation. After high school she worked at Cannon Mills and then Phillip Morris from where she retired. After she retired, she and her husband Larry began doing a lot of traveling. During their travels they visited multiple states including Alaska and Hawaii, and also traveled to different countries including Italy, France, Switzerland, Mexico and several others. She also found time to give back to her community by being a volunteer at Northeast Hospital. This brought her a lot of joy to interact with the patients and bring a little joy to their day.
Gayle loved the Lord and was a member of Crown Point Baptist Church in Kannapolis where she was very involved with teaching children in Sunday School. Gayle also loved traveling and socializing with the seniors. She loved her church family and had many friends she loved spending time with. She was very devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She loved having family over during the holidays where she made home cooked meals including the best ever red velvet cake. On her children's birthdays she always went out of her way to make sure that their day was special including always calling them to sing happy birthday. Gayle was the most loving caring person. She spent hundreds of hours caring for a family member after a fatal accident. She stayed at his bedside for several months while he recovered and drove to multiple hospitals to care his children who were also injured during the accident. She never complained even though she was dealing with her own medical issues.
Gayle is survived by her husband Larry Stegall, her children Donna Seamone (David Seamone {deceased}), Chance Ross (Judy Ross) and Jaclyn Ross (Eugene Savoy). Gayle has three grandchildren Caleb Seamone (Elise Seamone), Kayla Seamone, Rider Ross and four great-grandchildren Saylor, Weslyn, Beckham and Collins Seamone. She is proceeded in death by her father John Fesperman, mother Ezella Parks Fesperman and brother Pedro Fesperman.
Gayle was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was one of the most selfless people there has every been and this world has truly lost a great soul.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
