Libby Sharon Bebber, 64, of Salisbury, North Carolina, formerly of Kannapolis, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Libby had a smile that could light up a room and a way of making everyone around her smile right along with her. She had a special gift for making people feel the happiness she carried in her heart. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her.
Family was at the center of Libby’s world. She loved her family with her entire heart, and the deep bonds she shared with those she loved were among the most important parts of her life. Her love was wholehearted and unwavering, and the people she loved meant everything to her.
Libby found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, especially singing, dancing, and listening to country music. She loved spending time writing in her notebook while watching hummingbirds outside her window. She especially loved birthdays. She memorized the birthdays of the people in her life and looked forward to celebrating each one with genuine excitement.
For many years, Libby was a dedicated member and volunteer of the Hannaford Dole Elementary PTA. She especially enjoyed working in the Bobcat Store.
Throughout her life, Libby showed incredible strength as she faced a decades-long battle with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). She endured challenges that many could never fully understand, meeting them with remarkable resilience and a smile.
Her beautiful smile, loving heart, and ability to bring happiness to others are the things that will continue to shine in the memories of those who knew her.
Libby was preceded in death by her father, Ned Wilson Bebber; her mother, Annie Belle Barnette Bebber; her brother, Jerry Ned Bebber and wife Mary Bebber; and her nephew, Billy Paul Bebber.
She leaves behind her loving siblings, Bobby Wayne Bebber, Marcia Bebber Wilhelm, and Wanda Bebber Funderburk; her nieces, Melissa Wilhelm Eaton and Tanya Wilhelm Pruitt; and her nephews, Bobby Wayne Bebber Jr., Joshua Scott Funderburk, and Jeremy Lynn Funderburk. She is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews, Aliyah Pruitt, Elijah Pruitt, Ariyah Martin, Dexter Eaton, Katlyn Funderburk, and Bella Bebber, along with their children, Romelle Holbrook, Fransico Macias, Emiliano Macias, Isreal Macias, and Kynzleigh Funderburk.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Levine Cancer Institute in Concord, who provided Libby with compassionate care throughout her many years battling ITP, and to the Bayada nursing staff, who cared for her so lovingly during her final months. Their dedication, kindness, and support will always be remembered and deeply appreciated.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1:00pm in the chapel. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
