Leon Edward Stallings, 85, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 30, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House.
Leon was born January 11, 1938, in Cabarrus County, to the late Daniel and Loma Linker Stallings. He was also preceded in death by his son, Terry Stallings.
Mr. Stallings had retired from Cannon Mills, where he had been a talented welder. He was a faithful member of Parkwood Baptist Church, where he was in the men’s Senior Sunday School Class. He loved all his family, time spent with them, and enjoyed fishing, antiquing and was a mason. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Stallings will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family members include his beloved wife of 63 years, Shelby Blackwelder Stallings; daughter, Timisha Waters (Scott); his grandchildren, Kiristan Welsh (Ryan), Brittney Waters, Garrett Stallings (Stephanie) and Matthew Stallings (Kimberlyn); daughter-in-law, Carrie Falls Stallings; his great granddaughter, Savannah Stallings and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 Thursday, June 1st, at Parkwood Baptist Church.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon in the church, conducted by Reverend Michael Waters, Pastor. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Stalling’s name to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive-NW, Concord, NC 28027.
