León Castro-Ramírez, de 81 años, de Concord, falleció el lunes 29 de junio de 2026 en su hogar.

León nació el 19 de abril de 1945 en San José Viborillas, Guanajuato, México, hijo de los ya fallecidos Enriqueta Ramírez y Jesús Castro.

También fue precedido en la muerte por sus hermanos, Pedro Castro y Manuel Castro.

La familia recibirá a familiares y amigos de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. el jueves 2 de julio de 2026 en Whitley's Funeral Home.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el viernes 3 de julio de 2026 a la 1:30 p. m. en la Iglesia Católica St. James the Greater en Concord, oficiada por el Padre Oscar Rojas. Al concluir la misa, el sepelio se llevará a cabo en el cementerio de la Iglesia Católica St. James the Greater, ubicado en 2323 Gold Hill Road, Concord.

Le sobreviven su esposa de 52 años, María López Castro, con quien compartía su hogar; sus hijos, Ronnie Castro, Francisco Castro, Saúl Castro y su esposa María Martínez Oros, y Jesús Castro y su esposa Diana Bibiano; sus nietos, Guadalupe Castro, Vanessa Castro, Cristina Castro, Araceli Castro, Jessica Castro, Ronnie Castro y Saúl Castro; sus bisnietos, Leia López Castro, Grace García, Abigail Núñez y Elías García; así como sus hermanos, Agustín Castro, Alberto Castro, Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, Mario Castro y Leticia Castro.

Será recordado por su espíritu alegre, su corazón siempre joven y la bondad que brindaba a todas las personas que conocía. Sin importar su edad, siempre llevaba una sonrisa contagiosa y un entusiasmo por la vida que nunca se desvaneció. Sentía un profundo amor por el fútbol y era un gran aficionado del Club América, apoyando con orgullo a su equipo favorito. Disfrutaba trabajar con sus manos, ya fuera en la jardinería, sembrando, construyendo o creando algo nuevo. También amaba la música; con frecuencia cantaba, bailaba y tocaba la guitarra, llevando alegría y felicidad a quienes lo rodeaban. Sobre todo, fue un hombre generoso, trabajador y humilde, siempre dispuesto a tender la mano a quien lo necesitara. Su amor por la vida, por su familia y por todos los que lo rodeaban permanecerá por siempre en el recuerdo y será profundamente extrañado.

Leon Castro-Ramirez, 81, of Concord, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at his home.

Leon was born April 19, 1945, in San Jose Viborillas, Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Enriqueta Ramirez and the late Jesus Castro.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Pedro Castro and Manuel Castro.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Whitley's Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1:30 PM at St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Concord officiated by Father Oscar Rojas. Burial will immediately follow at St. James the Greater Catholic Church Cemetery, 2323 Gold Hill Road, Concord.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Maria Lopez Castro of the home; children, Ronnie Castro, Francisco Castro, Saul Castro and wife, Maria Martinez Oros, and Jesus Castro and wife, Diana Bibiano; grandchildren, Guadalupe Castro, Vanessa Castro, Cristina Castro, Araceli Castro, Jessica Castro, Ronnie Castro, and Saul Castro; and great-grandchildren, Leia Lopez Castro, Grace Garcia, Abigail Nuñez, and Elias Garcia; and siblings, Agustin Castro, Alberto Castro, Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, Mario Castro, and Leticia Castro.

He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, youthful heart, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. No matter his age, he carried a contagious smile and an enthusiasm for life that never faded. He had a deep love for soccer and was a big fan of Club América, cheering for his favorite team with great pride. He found joy in working with his hands, whether landscaping, planting, building, or creating something new. He also loved music, often singing, dancing, and playing the guitar, bringing laughter and happiness to those around him. Above all, he was a generous, hardworking, and selfless man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His love for life, his family, and those around him will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
