Obituary

Leigh Ann Cartner Marshall, 68, of Concord, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Leigh was born on March 3, 1958, in Cabarrus County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Robert Milton Cartner Jr. and Patsy Joann Maness Cartner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Robbie” Cartner.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Gary Lee Marshall; children, Brent Raymer (Chelsea), Joshua Marshall (Kina), Brittany Dubin (Matthew); grandchildren, Briggs Raymer, Bayne Marshall, and Brynn Marshall; sisters, Nelda Croom (Penn) and Penny Fisher (Jimmy).

Leigh found so much joy in the time she spent with family and friends. Some of her favorite memories were made during annual oyster roasts with her family at Holden Beach, which became a treasured tradition. She loved taking beach trips, cheering on her beloved Tar Heels, and, most of all, being present for the special moments in her grandchildren's lives. Whether attending their school activities, sporting events, or other milestones, Leigh was always proud to be there to support them.

Leigh’s friendships were also an important part of her life. She cherished outings with her work friends and church friends, as well as the special fellowship she shared with her Sonshine Group at Parkwood Baptist Church. Leigh will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord. The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00pm with Rev. Michael Waters officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
