Lawrence "Larry" Felton Litaker II, 75, of Concord, entered into his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Larry was born October 9, 1946 in Charleston South Carolina. He was the cherished son of the late Lawrence Felton Litaker and Helen Armstrong Litaker.
Larry was a kind and caring person who lived life to the fullest. He was a proud graduate of AL Brown High School, class of 1965. Growing up Larry was a member of West Point Baptist Church and really enjoyed the R.A program. Larry was a veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force. He was an extremely interesting man who had many fascinating hobbies. The outdoors always called to Larry and was where he found enjoyment and peace. It was no surprise that he enjoyed fishing and rabbit hunting with his beagles. It filled his heart with joy to tend to his beagles and keep honey bees. Every year Larry and his sons would plant an impressive vegetable garden. Making honey and harvesting vegetables kept him busy, but he loved his land and took a lot of pride in it. Along with being an outdoorsman he was also a people person. Larry never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor and generous heart. Larry kept up with current events, politics and loved watching all types of movies. One of his biggest joys of the last 17 years was he and his son, Casey's, business, Cannon Auto Retailer. He took great pride in what he did there and how it has grown. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Being a family man was his biggest achievement in life. Graduating his title to "Paw Paw" brought him so much happiness and he was extremely proud of his grandchildren. He lived an amazing life and lived it the way he wanted. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, John Matthew Litaker and Casey Lee Litaker (Christina); grandchildren, Cooper Lee Litaker and Porter Barringer Litaker; sisters, Linda Turner (Doug) and Brenda Hodgens (Jimmy); and his Aunt Mildred Litaker Wall, along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm Sunday, October 9, 2022 at West Point Baptist Church in Kannapolis. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 immediately after the visitation with the Rev. Eddie Willis officiating.
