Larry Delane Gardner

Larry Delane Gardner, 79, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on July 1, 1944 in Mooresville, NC to the late Frank Theodore Gardner Sr., and Amy Frye Gardner.

Larry worked in the insurance business for 27 years and later owned an underground cable installation business for 10 years. Larry loved spending time on the ocean and lake boating and fishing. He also enjoyed yard work, carpentry work, photography and researching ancestry. Most of all, he dearly loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 62 years, Martha Church Gardner; son, Chris (Evangeline “Vange”) Gardner; daughter, Kari (Scott) Lindley; grandchildren, Philip (Allison) Gardner, Caitlyn (David N.) Lang, Zachary Ford, Karigan (Ricky) Ford Moss; great-grandchild, Connor Lang; brother, Frank (Sandra) T. Gardner Jr., family friend, Linda Vaughn, and special caregiver, Jillian Scruton.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Wheeler officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville.
