Kirk Howard

Kirk Howard, 65, of Concord, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

He was born September 3, 1959 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Wendall and Marlene Overcash Howard. Kirk graduated from A.L. Brown High School. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years and met countless people on his routes that brightened his day as he did the same for them.

His passions included computer gaming, movies, reading, travel but most of all family. He especially loved spending time with his grandson Aemon. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Those left to cherish his memory; his wife of 40 years Carmen Howard, a son Ashton Howard and his wife Emily, and their child Aemon. Additionally, numerous close family also carrying on his memory are his niece Liz Roche, brother-in-law Chuck Childers, sister-in-law Tia Hallford, his Aunt Sharon Warday – and their respective families. As well as many wonderful cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Pore officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at Whitley’s Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to in his honor to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
