Kenneth Ray Sellers, 80, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday evening, May 7, 2024, following a period of declining health.
Affectionately known as Ken, he was born in Rowan County on May 6, 1944, to the late Duncan and Gladys Young Sellers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two brothers, Thomas and Chris Sellers and a sister, Vickie Faggart. Family members left are his son, Chantz (Brenda) Sellers; two daughters, Angie (Micky) Walker and Alison (Michael) Dixon of GA; four grandchildren, Austin Walker, Taylor Dixon, Claudia and Appollo Sellers; two brothers, Calvin 'Bugs" Sellers and Wayne Sellers; his sisters, Carolyn Sellers and Sylvia Sellers; and several nephews and nieces.
Ken had honorably served his country with US Navy during the Vietnam war. He had worked and retired after 36 years of service with NC SESC, working and helping to get Veterans employment. He was charter member and VP with VVA # 909 in Concord, NC.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the National Cemetery in Salisbury NC. (Statesville Blvd. Entrance), with military rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Navy Honor Guard.
