Kenneth Burdette Braswell

Kenneth Burdette Braswell was born July 10, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Mary Ellen Williams Braswell and James Burdette Braswell.

Kenneth accomplished much in his life. He held a master’s degree in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte and gave generously to 49ers athletics and numerous charities like Habitat For Humanity and National Public Radio. Ken was an accomplished ballroom dancer, winning many competitions in the 1980s and 1990s. He retired from United Parcel Service after 31 years of service. He was kind, loyal, vocal about his likes and dislikes, continuously learning, loved his family and friends immensely, and never wanted anyone to make a fuss over him.

Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Jimmy and Phil in 2022, his young brother Charles in August 1947, and his sister-in-law Carol Braswell. He is survived by his sister Kathryn and brother-in-law Samuel Nugent, his sister-in-law Carolyn Braswell, his nieces and nephews James (Susanna) Braswell, Stephen (Pamela) Braswell, Mark Braswell, Sherri (Jason) Little, Tammy Burleson, Jacob Nugent, Sean Nugent, and many other family that loved him.

Kenneth passed away February 5, 2026, surrounded by family. Services will be held at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Friday, February 13, at 11am, with visitation at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or Cardinal Hospice Care in his honor.
