Karen S. Sharp, 84, of Concord, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025. She was born on February 21, 1941, in Windfall, Indiana, to the late Maurice and Aline Tolle.
Karen lived in Tipton, IN most of her life. She married James N. Sharp in 1977. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2001. Karen worked as a histologist for many years in various hospitals. She was a member of Rock Prairie Baptist Church in Tipton, IN. She was very active in the church; she especially loved singing in the choir. Karen moved to North Carolina in 2010. She was a member of Memorial Baptist church in Kannapolis. Karen enjoyed doing crosswords, caring for her house plants and watching the butterflies. She even loved singing on Monday evenings at her apartment gatherings. Karen loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Chuck (Carla) Chitty and Chris (Tisha) Chitty; her grandchildren: Kori Chitty, Brittany (Dustin) Doversberger, Briar (Gary) Frederick, Caitlin Haley, Cambric Chitty, Katie Martin (Brian Cox) and Jake Martin; 15 great grandchildren; her sister, Marlene (Gene) Alberson; two brothers, Harold (Linda) Tolle and Darcel Tolle; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Tolle and Beverly Tolle; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sharp; her parents; two brothers, Darwin Tolle and Blaine Tolle and one sister-in-law, Mary Tolle.
Per Karen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and family services will take place next summer in Windfall, IN.
