Judy Ann Fowler Drye, 81, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday evening, August 23, 2024, at CMC Main.
Born March 16, 1943, in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Herman Ledford Fowler and Mary Artith Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lamar Carpenter; stepson, Dale Drye; daughter, Lisa Williams; a grandson, Nathan Carpenter; and brothers, Clinton, T.C. and Boyce Fowler.
Mrs. Drye loved all her family and time spent with them. She was an excellent cook and always enjoyed visiting the beach, and spending time with her sisters. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Judy will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Family members left with many cherished memories include her husband, George Drye; sons, David Carpenter (Karen) and Kenneth Drye; stepsons, Darrell Drye; her sisters, Shirley Hargette and Janey Drigger; grandchildren, Taylor, Kenley and Kolby Drye, (and their mother, Brandi Drye); Brandy Carpenter, Bradley Carpenter, Jason Williams, David Carpenter, Jr., Samantha Carpenter, Leah Carpenter, Justin Curt, Jessica Hardy and Cameron Drye; and an abundance of grand and great grandchildren, well over 30.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4th from 11:00-12:00, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Memorial services to remember and celebrate Judy’s life will begin at 12:00 noon, in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Reverend Robert Earnhardt. Inurnment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the healthcare team at CMC-Main and Atrium Cabarrus, as well as the life-flight team, EMS, police, George Drye, and all who were concerned and cared for Judy.
