Judy Ann James

Judy Ann Key James, 79, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at her home, after a period of declining health.

She was born July 12, 1946, in Cabarrus Co. to the late Paul Hampton Key and Alice Scarboro Key.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, she enjoyed sitting on the porch, spending time in the mountains, particularly at the Cherokee casino. She enjoyed shopping, going out, and hosting family parties, especially at Christmas time. She loved spending time with friends and family, taking great joy in being a grandmother. Judy will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Danny Wayne James, 2021, brothers, Hobert, Wayne, Jackie, and Dennis Key, sisters, Cathy Grooms, Barbara Dudley and one grandson, Austin Graham.

Those left to cherish her memory, son, Robert Cox (Paul “PJ” Justice Jr.), daughter, Christina Graham (Mike), two grandchildren, Cody Graham and Samantha Burnette (Ryan).

A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 10, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Brandon Bridges officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
