Judith Lorene Heater Blankenship Landers

November 13, 1938 — October 25, 2025

Kannapolis

Judith Lorene Heater Blankenship Landers was born on November 13, 1938, to a coal mining family. She left home at sixteen to attend nursing school. She worked her way through college, working as a telephone operator and cafeteria worker. She completed her education, married a handsome young man from Ohio, and started her family. They moved to Alabama, where Judy raised three children and continued to work as a nurse. She and her family were active members of New Friendship church. In 1980, her beloved husband was killed in an auto accident, and Judy continued to work and raise her family. In 1994, she met and married her second husband and continued to be a nurse and be active in another Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a mom, spoiling her grandchildren, and loving her great-grandchildren. Judy walked into eternity surrounded by loving family on October 25, 2025. Judy will be known for her love of Jesus, her family, and Alabama Football. She was a generous woman who gave to several nonprofits throughout her life, and she was the first to help someone in need. She forgave easily and often. She will be missed by all those who loved her. We can hear her singing now, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.” Rest easy, Judy, we will see you soon.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
