Joseph Patrick Almond

Joseph Patrick Almond, 54, of Salisbury, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 6, 2025, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on November 30, 1970, to the late Kenneth “Mike” and Saundra “Kaye” Almond.

Joe married the love of his life, Jina Woodard over 30 years ago and raised their beautiful daughter, Kristin. He was an avid fan and alumni of NC State University where he received degrees in Turf Grass Management and Ornamentals and Landscape Technology.

He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church where he proudly served as a deacon and 4th Grade Sunday School Teacher.

Joe worked at Irish Creek Golf Course for most of his career and recently at Holly Ridge Golf Links as a golf course superintendent. He was an avid golfer himself and enjoyed the many memories he made on the course with family and friends. In addition, he loved going to the beach with his family, traveling with his family and friends, spending time with his granddaughter Charlotte who stole his heart from day one, and of course cheering on N.C State Football. He faithfully attended almost every game at Carter Finley Stadium since he graduated, loved seeing his family of season ticket holders that surrounded him and of course the many tailgates he spent with dear friends. He also loved his church family and his 4th grade Sunday School Class with whom he passionately shared the gospel while also sprinkling in a little fun.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Jina Almond; his daughter, Kristin (Jay) Brown; his granddaughter, Charlotte Brown; his dog Charlie; his sister, Shelly (Wes) Mills and nephew Kyle Mills; his brother, Matt (Laura) Almond and nephew Avery Almond; his father and mother in law, Thomas and Song cha Woodard; his sister-in-law, Michelle (Tim) Kincaid and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Kaye Almond; his paternal grandparents, Olen and Juanita Almond and maternal grandparents, Brodus and Sarah Lemmonds.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming love and support they have received. In addition, thank you to all the first responders who were involved and to the bystanders that attempted CPR.

Joe’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr NW, Concord, NC 28027.
