John Robert Campbell Sr., 80, of Kannapolis, NC was unstrapped and carried to glory by angles on Sept.22, 2025. The official time of death was 3:16. John lived a simple life filled with smiles and laughter with his many friends and family. John could always be counted on to help others.
John joins his wife, Betty in their best life now in heaven. They were married for 60 years. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Lang Haigler and father William L. Campbell, his brother, Ken Campbell, and his sisters Faye Smith and Alda Mumford.
John is survived by his son John (Annette), his daughter Penny (Tommy), his sister Katie (Greg), and his brother Buzzy (Teresa). He has four grandchildren, Amanda Henry, Thomas Henry, Travis Campbell, and Taylor Blackwell. He has 12 great grandchildren.
John spent his life as a carpenter and later in life volunteering at his church. Village Chapel in Kannapolis. His favorite hobby was "scrapping", he loved collecting metal. If you wanted to see the biggest smile that he could make, take him some copper! He was always helping other clean up unwanted metal items. He really had a servant's heart when it came to helping others.
A celebration of John's life is planned for November 23, starting at 3:00 pm at Village Chapel in Kannapolis. Family and friends are invited to gather on that day to celebrate the life that John lived.
John could always be seen in a Blue Line Brotherhood t-shirt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to John's favorite nonprofit, Outdoor Revolution/Blue Line Brotherhood. John Campbell Jr. can receive all donations.
The family is extremely grateful for all the love and support from friends and family during this time. Our faith in Jesus is carrying us through this loss.
