Obituary: John Ivey Mitchell 41, of Kannapolis went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 20, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born November 29, 1977 in Cabarrus County the son of the late Terry and Jane Ridenhour Mitchell. John was a great cook and enjoyed making various dishes. For relaxation John enjoyed spending time with his friends in the tropical islands, particularly the Bahamas. He loved music and all sports and played golf whenever the opportunity arose. Survivors include his uncle, Wayne Mitchell (Saundra) of Kannapolis, N.C. along with numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, N.C. with Rev. Ron Hartman officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
