John Wayne Chesebro, 64, of Kannapolis, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home.

John was born April 21, 1962, in Burlington County, New Jersey to Wayne Douglas Chesebro and Donna Kay Meyers Chesebro.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret Dougherty Chesebro and stepbrother, Wayne Chesebro.

Survivors include his parents, Donna Kay Meyers Chesebro and Wayne Douglas Chesebro of the home; siblings, Lisa Ross, Ricky Chesebro (Debbie Saunders), Robin Sinsabaugh (Terry), and Steven Chesebro (Chris); several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Buddy, Whitey, and Miller 2, and dog, Ruby Dee.

John was a passionate sports fan who loved NASCAR and dirt track auto racing, cheered faithfully for the New York Yankees, followed college basketball with enthusiasm, and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. More than anything, John loved his “people”. Every morning and every night, he made sure his friends and loved ones knew he was thinking of them by sending a simple text to say good morning or goodnight. Those messages became a cherished part of so many lives, and their absence is deeply felt. John never ended a conversation without telling others he loved them. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.
