John "Henry" Barbee, 86, of Concord passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a period of declining health.

Funeral services will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 22 with Rev. Chad Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Wednesday at Whitley's Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.

Henry was born December 17, 1939, in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late John R. and Margaret Whitley Barbee. In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his 1st wife and his brothers, Fred and Bobby Barbee and his sister, Vickie Barbee Benton.

He is survived by his wife Anne Aldridge Barbee , his son, Darrel and his step-sons, Mark and Josh Phillips, his brother Harry Barbee and his sister, Doris Barbee Benton.

Henry was a lifelong area resident. He held many jobs during his life but he was happiest when he was farming his own land and selling produce at the Farmer's Market. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
