IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jody Austin
Holloman
May 6, 1971 – February 20, 2026
Jody Austin Holloman, 54, of China Grove, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Jody was born May 6, 1971, in Chatham County, North Carolina; he was the son of the late John Cook and the late Golda Mae Nance Cook.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Debra Rich and Cindy Hill.
Survivors include children, Austin James Holloman and Zachery Trace Holloman (Kyli); grandchildren, Summer Renee Holloman, Hunter Blaze Holloman, and Rikki Mae Holloman; sister, Brenda Berrier; and numerous nieces and nephews with greats and great-greats.
Jody was a devoted family man whose greatest pride was the life he built with those he loved. He was known as “Simple Man”- and he truly was just that. He took immense pride in his welding career, mastering his craft with skill and dedication, and was especially proud of stepping into his new role as shop manager at Butler Built Motorsports. Outside of work, he found freedom on the open road, riding his Harley with close friends. He had a love for the simple things; live music—especially Tracen Hollow—fishing, and hunting in the quiet stillness of the woods. A natural jokester, he had a nickname for just about everyone and a way of making people feel seen and valued. Above all, he adored his children and grandchildren; they were his greatest joy and the true legacy of a life lived simply, faithfully, and full of love. Live like Jody!
The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Additional information will be provided in the near future.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
