Joe Jerry Lambert, 91, of Kannapolis passed away after a period of declining health, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 16, 2025.
His Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, January 21 at North Kannapolis Baptist Church, with visitation at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Timothy Brown and Rev. Leon Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Joe was born on November 19, 1934, in Alexander Co., a son of the late Stamey lee Lambert and Minnie Rector Lambert. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia “Danny” Argo Lambert, his son, Jeff Lambert and his five siblings: Everette and J.C. Lambert, Willene L. Ward, Mozelle L. Karriker and Mary “Speedy” L. Freeland.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Greg Lambert (Pam) of Kannapolis and Eric Lambert (Lori) of Landis, his seven grandchildren: Matthew Lambert, Erin L. Drucker, Stephen Lambert, Benjamin Lambert, Nathan Lambert, Jonathan Lambert and Hannah L. Adams, his seven great-grandchildren: Emelyn, Freddie, Olivia, Scott, Maddox, Eli, and Carter and his brother-in-law Kenneth Argo (Patty) of Charlotte and his sister-in-law Shelia A. Hampton of Surfside Beach SC.
Joe was a longtime resident of Kannapolis and a longtime member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School, where he won “All State” in Basketball. Joe was a graduate of Catawba College and a proud veteran of the US Army stationed in France. He enjoyed playing baseball on the US Armed Forces Baseball Team. He spent his adult life working in financial services for Cannon Mills and then Atrium Health. Joe enjoyed family trips to the beach, playing golf and spending time with family. He was a lifetime member of the Kannapolis Country Club/Irish Creek. He will be dearly missed.
The Lambert family would like to thank all the caregivers that assisted with Joe’s care at the home.
