Jo Ann Holmes Clark, 88, formerly of Concord, NC, currently residing in Myrtle Beach, SC., passed away June 30, 2023, while living at the Reflections Assisted Living Facility. She was born November 2,1934 in Royston, GA., a daughter of the late Luther Charles Holmes and Sara Evelyn Phillips Holmes. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, James Nelson Clark, son, Charles ”Eddie” Ertzberger, brother, Jack Holmes Sr., granddaughter, Jo Ann Solesbee and step-brothers, Douglas Parham and Leiland Parham. She is survived by her children, Steven P. Ertzberger and wife Mary A., of Myrtle Beach, SC, , Terri Ann Solesbee, Aquone, NC., and Jack W. Holmes Jr. of Thomasville, NC., brother, Luther Charles Holmes, Jr. of Anderson, SC., grandchildren, Staci Ertzberger, Englewood, Co, James Solesbee III, Lacy, WA., Evan Holmes, of Thomasville, great grandchildren, Cadence Trueman, Christian Plato, both of Englewood, CO and Riley A. Phillips of Aquone, NC., Haley A. Solesbee and James Solesbee IV both of Lacy, WA.
She was a devoted member of the Popular Tent Presbyterian Church for over 35 years. Jo was an active member with the American Business Women Association (ABWA) for 40+ years. Over her career, she was an HR manager, administrative assistant, with her final position in purchasing for an import/export company out of Charlotte, NC. Jo was a graduate of Star High School and attended CPCC college. She enjoyed old movies and loved to cook. She was instrumental in our annual 4th of July family reunions and the holiday seasons with family and friends. She also was a self- taught pianist.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. David True. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley’s.
