Obituary: Jill Rena Garrett, 55 of Belmont went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Death was unexpected. She was born April 29, 1962 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Wallace Theodore Garrett, Sr. and the late Myrtle McDaniel Garrett. In earlier life she was employed at Catawba Nuclear Station and late worked at McGuire Nuclear Station until her retirement due to disability. She enjoyed riding her Harley, horses, fishing, gardening, and loved entertaining her family and friends with her guitar. Survivors include a special friend Carrie Reece, two sisters; Shirley Hooper (Robert) of Sacramento, Lu Ellen Parrish of Mesa, Arizona, three brothers, Johnny Parrish(Rita) of Cramerton, Wallace Garrett, Jr.(Lorrlei) of Mt. Holly and Randy Garrett(Kerry) of Lowell. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Joyce Miles. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
