Jerry Wayne Beaver

Obituary: Jerry Wayne Beaver, 73, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born September 7, 1939 in Rowan County, son of the late Ralph Overcash and Mary Lou Beaver Overcash. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allan Beaver and Michael Dean Beaver. Jerry attended Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, enjoyed woodworking and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. Jerry was employed with Cannon Mills Plant #1 in the finishing department retiring in 2003 with 47 years of service. He dearly loved the Lord. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Don Burleyson. At other times the family will be at the residence. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy B. Beaver of the home, one son, Douglas (Jamie) Beaver of Salisbury, daughter-in-law, Becky Beaver of Kannapolis, six grandchildren: Travis Absher, Cody Absher, Elijah Beaver, Amanda Beaver, Jeremy Beaver, and Lindsey Beaver. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, John Michael Liborio and Arianna Liborio. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 3006 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083 Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Beaver.
