Jerry David Haigler, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026.
Jerry was born on January 29, 1949 in Iredell County. He was a cherished son of the late John David Haigler Jr. and Dorothy Jenkins Haigler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Privette.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Judy R. Haigler; son, Jeffery D. Haigler (Joy); daughter, Jenny D. Rea (Jason); grandsons, Logan Bruce and Alister Rea; sisters, Judy Faggart (Tommy), and Brenda Hinson; brother, Tim Haigler (Saundra); Jerry was also blessed with one niece and many nephews.
Jerry was known by all who met him as a true gentleman—respectful, thoughtful, and guided by a strong character.
A devoted animal lover, Jerry had a special place in his heart for cats, especially his cherished companion, Midnight. He was a proud Mason, having been a member since 1977, and he lived out the values of loyalty, integrity, and service throughout his life.
Jerry was a devoted Carolina fan and never missed a chance to support his team. Fishing was another favorite pastime when he was able. Jerry also found happiness working in his yard.
Above all else, Jerry loved his family and enjoyed being around people. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation at 1:00pm with Rev. Chris Hughes officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Masonic Home for Children- 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565 or to Rowan Vocational Opportunities- 278 Old Concord Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146
