Jerry Thanuel Gardner

Jerry Thanuel Gardner, 92, of Concord, passed away at home April 8, 2022, after a period of declining health. Born September 7, 1929 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late of Walter and Viola Wright Gardner.
Jerry spent his working years as a Doffer at the former Cannon Mills. He was an avid bowler and a past NC state horseshoe throwing champion.
Jerry is survived by his wife Clara Cox Gardner; a son, Jerry Allen Gardner of Concord; a grandson, Jon Gardner of Enochville; a great grandson, Kyson Gardner; and a sister, Jimmie Verniece Beltran of Las Vegas.
Aside from his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Irene, Ora Zell, and Helen Louise; and three brothers Ovid Buell, Baxter Hartzell, and Walter Clark.
A graveside service to honor Jerry's life will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:45 am prior to the graveside service at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.
