Jerry Allen Dixon, 64, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Jerry was born on April 4, 1958 in Darlington County, South Carolina to the late James Clayton Dixon and Annie Mae Gainey Dixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a service manager for Rush Ideal Lease. In his free time, he had many passions and hobbies. He especially loved riding his motorcycle and side by side, drag racing, shooting, and scuba diving. Most of all, he dearly loved spending time with his wife and family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 14 years whom he lovingly called “Babydoll”, Janet Dixon; daughter, Patricia Mason (David); sons, Jonathan Gerhard and Jesse (Kristen) Carter; grandchildren, Dixie Rose Mason, Robert Mason, Alex Van Schaffel, Elizabeth Gerhard, Izabella Gerhard, Jesse Carter Jr. and Kate Carter, and two brothers, Richard (Jane) Dixon and Michael Dixon (Lisa).
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jay Pegram officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service being escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders to Carolina Memorial Park. Full military honors will be presented by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a memorial donation in Jerry’s name to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
