James Kevin Lee

James Kevin Lee, 71, of China Grove, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20, 2025.

James was born on November 15, 1953 in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late James Melvin Lee and Ruth Hancock Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fiancé, Linda Morris; sister, Brenda Jordan; and nephew, Dustin Lee.

James had a passion for country music, but nothing quite compared to his love for Elvis Presley. He often be found humming along to classic tunes or playing his favorite records. James found joy in the simple pleasures: watching baseball on a summer afternoon, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys every fall, and enjoying reruns of The Andy Griffith Show.

James spent his career working as a skilled painter in both residential and commercial settings, always taking pride in his work.

More than anything, James loved his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Shannon Bristol (Wayne); son, Matthew Lee; grandchildren, Carolina Lee, Sierra Bristol, Caleb Bristol, and Gavin Gibson; brothers, Archie B. Lee and Garry A. Lee; sister, Melba Kramer (Jake); nieces, Tracy Burry (Andrew), Sandra Lee (Liam) and Becky Grooms ;nephew, Sean Kramer (Samantha), JR Lee (Noelle); great niece, Maddie Woodward, Miya Woodward and Anna Grace Lee; great nephew, Andrew Lee and Jeffrey Jordan great-great nieces and nephews, Wyatt Kramer, Anna Kate Kramer, Price and Parker Meyers.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Sloan Lake Community Church in China Grove. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00pm with Pastor Zachary Sizemore officiating. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
