James “Jimmy” Leslie Wallace, Jr. age 81, of Concord passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

Jimmy was born May 16, 1945, in Darlington, SC, a son of the late James L. Wallace, Sr. and the late Lois Gainey Wallace. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Winburn, 2 great-grandchildren Chloe and Michael Winburn and two of his sisters, Virginia and Peggy Wallace and his brother, Joseph Wallace.

Jimmy was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Faith Baptist Church in Kannapolis. In earlier years Jimmy worked for Cannon Mills Plant #1 as a working foreman. He loved spending time with his family, listening to preaching and gospel music, and enjoyed watching sports, the Clemson Tigers.

Those who remain to cherish his memories include his wife of 58 years, Jenny Billings Wallace, his 3 sons: Calvin Wallace (Betty) of China Grove, Mark Wallace (Tammy) of Concord, Joshua Wallace (Jessica) of Winston Salem and his daughter, Tonya Tucker (Jerry) of Concord. Jimmy is also survived by his brother, Clifton Wallace and his sister, Deborah Weatherford and Betty Sobacki (Jerry) as well as 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Thursday, July 30 at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Pauley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the church starting at 1:00 PM Thursday.
