James Wayne Fritz Sr.

James “Wayne” Fritz Sr., 86, of Concord passed away, Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Tucker Hospice House.

He was born October 26, 1939, in Iredell Co. to the late John Paul Fritz and Clara Shelton Teeter Fritz.

Wayne graduated from A.L. Brown in 1957, he was an executive buyer for U.S. Foods, he was an avid antique car collector, he was a member of Hornets Nest Car Club he was also a Mason and belonged to Masonic Lodge #738, a Member of Jackson Park Baptist. He enjoyed gardening and growing bonsai trees and cutting grass.

He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Louise Cannon Fritz and a sister Patricia Darlene Severt.

Those left to cherish his memory, two daughters, Tammy Whisenant (Daryl) of Supply, NC, Cindy Cook (Richard) of Stanfield, NC, Jamie Fritz Jr. (Concord) one brother Terry Fritz (Terri) of Kannapolis, four grandchildren, Heather Whisenant, James Collins (Renee) Brittany Cabigao (Ed), Richie Cook (Mandy) and 11 Great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Tucker Hospice House for their loving and kind care of Wayne.

A private service will be held at a later date.
