James "Eddie" Tadlock

December 20, 1947 — January 8, 2026

Kannapolis

James “Eddie” Tadlock, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Eddie was born on December 20, 1947 in Cabarrus County. He was the cherished son of the late James Daniel Tadlock and Helen Mae Cline Tadlock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Peggy Carolyn Price Tadlock, and his brother, Richard “Ricky” Tadlock.

A proud United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Eddie lived a life marked by service, faith, and dedication. He was a lifelong member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church, where he faithfully served on the church board as a trustee.

For over 30 years, Eddie was self-employed at Tadlock's Trophy Shop, where his hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to quality reflected the values he lived by.

Eddie had a true passion for building and working on projects, rarely sitting still and always keeping busy. He enjoyed traveling to Colorado to visit his family.

Eddie cherished time spent outdoors — fishing, especially on trips to the beach, sitting by a fire, and enjoying the quiet moments of nature. He enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing and watching the birds with his fishing buddy, David. Above all else, he treasured time with his grandchildren, taking great pride in watching them play sports and grow. Eddie will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Melissa (Mark); three grandchildren, Cooper, Griffin, and Ella of Colorado; siblings, Michael Tadlock of Kannapolis, Susan Lambert (Alan) of South Carolina, and Amy Tadlock of Salisbury; Eddie was also blessed with many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday, January 20, 2025, at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church in Kannapolis. The funeral service will begin immediately following the visitation beginning at 11:30am with Rev. Joy Garman and Rev. Steve Beam officiating. Burial will be at 1:30pm at Salisbury Nation Cemetery with military honors.
