James Dobson

Obituary: Concord- James "Steve" Stevenson Dobson, 58, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2019, at his home. Born July 31, 1960 in Cumberland County, he was a son of Dallas Stevenson Dobson and Phyllis Jean Cox Dobson. Steve was a gifted heavy machine operator. He loved and supported the Carolina Panthers, loved his family, his Lord and his church. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, Steve's family and friends are blessed with the depth of his love and loyalty for the rest of their lives, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Steve was preceded in death by his father in law, Bobby Gene Hoosier, grandparents, Della and Arnold Cox, and James Clifton and Macel Lathrop Dobson; Cousin, Paul Michael Shifflett, and an uncle, Leo Cox. Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 38 years, Shelia Ann Hoosier Dobson; his children, Brandon Stevenson Dobson, Candace Marie Dobson, and Mariah Alyssa Dobson; his siblings, Tammy Dobson and Eric Dobson (Angela); grandchildren, Syeedah, Josiah, Travis and Saiyr; his in-laws, Ruth Hoosier, Melinda Privett (Carlos), Bobby "Bubby" Hoosier, II (Cynthia), Donna Woodard (Danny), Lesia Workman, Gina Jones (Dean), Alice Peters (Dallas), Lou and Paul Shifflett, Rosie and Bob Belcher, Ada Cox, Ray and Jackie Cox and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank a special nephew, Brad Woodard, for the love, support and care given to Steve and his family. Memorial services to remember and celebrate Steve's life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 22nd at Universal Baptist Church, 310 Rogers Lake Rd., Kannapolis.
