Kannapolis, NC-Henry Clyde Patton, known to many as “Butch” or “Deddy” to those dearest, went to be with the Lord the afternoon of Tuesday October 24th, 2023. He passed away at Tucker Hospice House after a long and courageous battle against multiple illnesses. His survival from stroke and his ongoing battle with diabetes and kidney disease proves that he was a miracle from God and he should be remembered for his lifelong strength and resilience.
Butch was born on January 24th, 1955 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of Henry Cleophas Patton and Nettie Pope Patton. In his younger years he worked as a veterinary technician. He spent the majority of his adult life raising his daughters and taking care of his mother as she grew older. He enjoyed 50 years with the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Connie Patton. He was also the best father Chelsea Patton Miller and Niki Patton Aispuro could ever ask for. His most cherished memories were of he and Connie’s time spent living in Atlanta, GA in the late 70’s and 80’s before returning to Kannapolis to raise his family.
Butch was passionate about sports and fitness and enjoyed taking his family to football and hockey games. He always believed in hard work and being the best version of oneself. He would never miss a game or event that his girls were a part of no matter if he had to follow the school activities bus for an hour on the road as the only parent to attend.
Butch also loved the beach-especially Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. He enjoyed many family vacations there and the Pattons have lifelong memories of “Deddy” playing with them in the waves. Butch was an equally devoted “dog father” to his beloved Bull Terrier, Andy, who passed in 2017. He is remembered by all of his immediate family to be their protector and provider who made an impact on their lives every single day. .
Henry Clyde “Butch” “Deddy” Patton is survived by his wife Connie Patton of Kannapolis; two daughters-Niki Aispuro and husband Michael Aispuro of Concord, Chelsea Miller and husband Joshua Miller of North Myrtle Beach and grandson Draco Patton Aispuro of Concord.
