On May 11, 2023, Harvey Cecil Wilson, Jr., 86 years old, passed away peacefully at his Concord home surrounded by his family. Harvey was born on September 7, 1936, in Mecklenburg County to the late Harvey Sr. and Mattie Mantooth Wilson.
Harvey spent his career in the plumbing industry and enjoyed gardening as a one of his past times, but he loved spending time with his granddaughters most of all.
Harvey is survived by Jo Ann Byrum Wilson, his wife of 68 years; his daughters, Vickie Oakley and her husband Stan, and Brenda Culbreth and her husband John; his brother, David Lewis “Pete” Wilson and his wife Carol, and his granddaughters, Victoria Oakley, and Anna Culbreth.
The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Monday, May 15, 2023, from 5-7pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
