Harry Franklin Mowrer

Harry Franklin Mowrer, 80, of Concord, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital.

Frank was born January 24, 1945, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Harry Mowrer and the late Margaret Elizabeth Stallings Mowrer. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Mowrer.

Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Teresa Diane Duncan Mowrer; son, Matthew Aaron Mowrer of, Charlotte, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Lauren Mowrer Chandrasekaran and Samuel Chandrasekaran of London, England; stepson, Joshua Ruben Duncan; grandchildren, Jack Duncan, Charlotte Duncan, Luca Chandrasekaran and Mateo Chandrasekaran.

Outside of his long and successful career in the automotive industry, Frank enjoyed travel and adventure, a lifestyle he continued to embrace in retirement - kayaking, traveling, keeping a beautifully maintained yard, and tackling projects around his home. From the UK to India, France to Australia, Belgium to Chile, Costa Rica to New Zealand, and Greece to Peru, Frank was always eager for adventure.

At 80 years old, Frank traveled to Mexico to swim with whale sharks - a bucket-list item that captured his spirit.

He always welcomed the opportunity to learn about new places, cultures, and people, finding joy in every journey and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
