Harold Gray Cline, 84, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 16, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Harold was born on November 13, 1938 in Cabarrus County. He was the cherished only son of the late Harry Gray Cline and Juanita Byrd Cline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Martha Metcalf.
Harold had unwavering love for the great outdoors. Whether the sun shone brightly, or the chill of winter kissed his cheeks, Harold found solace in the beauty of nature. This passion led him to spend every moment he could outside.
In addition to his passion for nature, Harold had a profound love for music. He shared his talent as a guitarist playing in a band for different organizations.
Harold was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing baseball. His passion for the game was a testament to his enduring commitment to excellence and teamwork. He continued to follow baseball throughout his life, sharing his love for the sport with friends.
After high school Harold entered the Army and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. He also attended Rowan Technical college where he received various certifications. Later in life Harold retired from the Department of Transportation and the Department of Corrections.
Harold was a loving caregiver who provided dedicated support to his mother and aunt during their later years, demonstrating the same unwavering love and commitment when he looked after his companion, Martha.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving family, friends, and all his church family at Center Grove Lutheran.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Center Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kannapolis with Rev. Christopher Stout officiating.
