Harold Lee Carringer, 75, of Mount Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, September 8, 2023, at Big Elm Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 28, 1947, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Johnny and Myrtle Teal Carringer. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Jo Stricklin Carringer, who was the love of his life, and an infant brother, David Carringer.
Harold graduated from AL Brown and had proudly and honorably served his country with the US Army, serving 2 tours in Vietnam. Mr. Carringer had retired from Pneumafil Corporation, where he was a vice president, which allowed him to travel and be able to see the world. He was an Atlanta Brave, UNC Tar Heel and Carolina Panther fan and was an avid and skilled deep-sea fisherman. Harold had a tremendous love of animals and an infectious smile that he often shared. A loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Loving family members include his daughters, Michelle Sides and Angela Carringer (James Roland); grandsons, Tyler Sides and Mason Roland; his sister, Sandra Mowery (Woody); nieces, nephews; much loved cousins and lots of loved animals.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12th from 1:00-3;00 pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Harold’s life will begin at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Reverend Dennis Craft. Burial will follow the services at Carolina Memorial Park.
